The Campus Police Training/Projects Coordinator helps establish,promote and maintain hospital security and property protection programs forall facilities within the Singing River Health System. They are responsible for coordinating andmanaging education, training, and projects for the Campus Police staff. TheCampus Police Training/Projects Coordinator provides advice and guidance ondevelopment, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of police education andtraining activities to ensure effectiveness. They consult and collaborate withlocal, state, and national security/law enforcement resources to assessspecific training needs, provide direction and guidance for the design andimplementation of corresponding education and training programs. They will assist the Chief with coordinatingand facilitating projects as requested. Additionally, they maintain the department's training records,policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accrediting organizations.The Campus Police Training/Projects Coordinator may be requiredto work extended hours and shifts due to continuing or developing emergencysituations and/or police matters. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance withSinging River Health System procedures and policies, accreditationorganization, and governing guidance and publications for health careemployees.

Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years ofexperience as a law enforcement officer with training experience and meetminimum standards outlined by Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards andTraining (BLEOST).Reportsto:

Work involves moderate physical activity:
frequently moving aboutthe office, building, or other facilities within the SRHS service area; frequently walking, climbing, running,crawling, standing, kneeling, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling,reaching, and handling. Must have sufficient mobility and physical stamina torespond quickly to emergency situations and work for long periods of time whennecessary. Must be able to safely lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds.Must be able to handle unruly individuals using proper techniques.Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sounds atnormal speaking levels, with or without correction. Must demonstrate theability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express / exchange ideas anddetailed information in person and on the telephone. Work requires a minimumstandard of visual acuity, with or without correction, with the ability toadjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.Work includes walking, climbing, running, crawling, standing,kneeling, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and handling.Must have sufficient mobility and physical stamina to respond quickly toemergency situations and work for long periods of time when necessary. Must possess superior customerservice skills and professional etiquette. Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (mustbe keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax,etc.). Must have working knowledge ofMS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must be able to interrelate well withall hospital departments (all levels of supervision and management) andemployees, patients, visitors, medical staff members, the public and local lawenforcement agencies.Must be forthcoming, honest andcooperative in departmental matters involving self or others, and must promotethe SRHS mission of world class healthcare and wellness andunderstands that the SRHS Corporate Compliance Program places the burden ofproof on the provider to show that there was no intent to commit fraud. Must be confident, even-tempered,tolerant, and knowledgeable of law enforcement procedures and techniques. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
