00-1630) The PRM Social Worker provides psychosocial support to patient populations of different ages and families within Singing River Health System and focuses on crisis intervention and coping skills.
He/She works with community agencies to help meet social, emotional and economic needs of the patient.

Education Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school required; Master's Degree in Social Work preferred.
License Must be currently licensed to practice as a Social Worker in the State of Mississippi.
Certification N/A Experience A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Social Worker in a hospital, rehabilitation center or Home Health required.
Physical Demands Stands, turns, bends, stoops, lifts, climbs, and uses many physical motions in performing day-to-day activities.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of tie and do a great deal of walking without experiencing undue fatigue.
May be exposed to communicable disease or radiation.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express/exchange ideas and detailed information in person and on the telephone.
Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity, with or without correction, with the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.
e.
shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms that are closer to compare data at close vision.
Must be able to work for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Mental Demands Keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making skills in the management of terminally ill patients.
Communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress level associated with care of acute patient/family, rapidly changing patient conditions, emotional demands of patients and families, and demands of maintaining effective working relationships with peers, managers, physicians, and other health care workers.
Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
Special Demands Work requires the ability to function independently, adapt to workload demands, set priorities, understand and set goals.
Must possess highly developed organizational, planning and management writing skills, excellent oral communication skills, and the ability to create/maintain a collaborative work environment.
Must have intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must have a valid driver license as job requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area - with the employee providing his/her own transportation.
