As a the Planning Yard Project Manager, you will be on a team that is responsible for a planning yard, maintenance facility, and the procurement of parts and training for the world's newest and one of the most advanced Antarctic research vessels. This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance. You will work closely with Government and industry professionals from around the world, as well as shipyards, vendors, and support personnel. In this role, you will:
Lead a team providing naval vessel life-cycle sustainment, including planning yard functions, maintenance, procurement services, and training. Provide analysis of shipyard progress data and metrics, and other relevant sources of information to advise clients on current and developing issues. Use tools such as Integrated Master Schedule, Cost Performance Reports, and Ship Production Analysis data. Assess data and metrics to identify and remove production chokepoints, resource allocation restrictions, or other issues impacting successful completion of vessels' intermediate and depot-level maintenance. Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Track and monitor hardware, services, or system completion progress through delivery and client acceptance. Conduct financial and schedule trend analysis. Lead and direct the work of others including providing mentorship. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have A Bachelor's Degree plus 10 to 12 years of relevant experience. Military or DoD experience can be substituted for a degree if sixteen (16) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher-level position. A current DoD security clearance or be able to obtain an interim clearance prior to hire. United States (U.S.) citizenship. Experience working with domestic and international shipyards A demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of at least two of the following:
managing a planning yard supervision of a maintenance facility director of a training program, including classroom and/or OJT training elements. Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools. Ability to travel to support activities in shipyards and a foreign naval facility. Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to supervise or accomplish ship checks, may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment. Additional desiredexperience and skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Technical Project ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
